Thought on the Grammy's

So after the Grammy's I had so much to say but felt it better to ponder a little. So here is my two cents:

If there's one thing I can say about the music and entertainment industry is that its suffering from a serious case of artistic famine. It seems as though the only contribution this generation of "performers" is leaving to the world is their shock and awe moments of crass oversexualized, irre...verent antics. Today's so-called artist bring nothing new in way of artistry but rather feel it necessary to push the envelope rather than raise the bar. While artists is the past had thier moments of shock and awe, at least they contributed with great original content. The work of Elvis and the Beatles has stood the test of time & Grunge rock, proved to the world garage bands could draw the masses with thier raw tunes and vocals. Unfortunately today you can't even tell the difference between pop, todays "hip-hop", rock, country or even contemporary Christian music. Now, I know thier are some genres who have not compromised, but I'm refering to the mashed up regurgitated noise that is constantly played over the mainstream airwaves. Progressivness is suppose to move forward right? No, what we have is a stagnant landfill of recycled playlists and a bunch of people wanting to be the next sombody while the ones desiring to be original bare a striking resemblance to artists of the past. Is it just me or does every white rapper need to summon the ghost of Vanilla Ice?
